Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah combine for a tasty package that’s budget-minded to boot. Opening with an intense earthiness and layers of tart cherry, it also offers brambly, gamy meatiness and a finish of black pepper. The majority of the grapes are Grenache, but the wine is as marked by the anise and earthiness of the Mourvèdre as anything else.
