Not much of this variety comes from this mountainous appellation, but this bottling suggests it can work well. Hearty blackberry aromas are leveled by anise, sage, black rocks and a touch of pencil lead on the nose. The palate is very tight and minerally, with chipped-graphite flavors providing structure to the prominent black and purple fruits.
