Herbal and loaded with tomato leaf on the nose, but that’s mostly the first impression. The wine settles down to reveal black olive, berry and leather. The feel is smooth and silky, with nice tannins and flavors of herbs, vanilla, cream, plum and chocolate. Lengthy on the finish, with acidic snap throughout. Drink now through 2014.
