Luis Pereira is Santa Carolina’s commitment to making wine the old-fashioned way, with lower alcohol and more freshness. All in all, it’s a success: aromas of cherry, berry and tomato are a bit lean and austere. In the mouth, this is more tight and grabby than lush, while earthy, Bordeaux-like flavors of cassis and plum finish with zesty acidity and moderate complexity. Drink through 2022.
