Country: France / Cru Bourgeois
Variety: Bordeaux-style Red Blend Bordeaux
Winery: Château Taffard de Blaignan / Médoc
It’s a shame that the producer used too much wood in this difficult vintage. The fruit is delicate, with the black-currant flavors and acidity smothered by a burnt, toasty character that’s hard to taste through. It will soften, although the wood will always be there. Vignobles Roux bought this Cru Bourgeois in 2013. The blend is 50-50 Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
